Mushroom photography

Why mushrooms? I can’t tell you. And why photography? I don’t know either. What I do know, is that since I was a teenager, nothing has made me happier than sitting on the ground in the gorgeous Luxembourgish forest in autumn trying to capture these mysterious little bites of nature. Mushrooms are the key to life, quite literally. Whether it be medically or in our ecosystem, just to name a couple of areas, fungi are essential. Through this found love of mine I have continued to learn and never ceased to be amazed by everything they do for us and our planet. Being an architect in my professional life also undoubtably influences my photography. Often organically gravitating towards intricate patterns and orthogonal framing. The bold colours that the autumn offers and the deep sunlight aid in enhancing the whole. Over time, I taught myself not only about fungi but about photography as well. This love of mine has allowed me to cross paths with wonderful poeple, lovingly willing to share their knowledge. To them, I am hugely grateful. The aim in sharing these photographs through prints is to bring a little serenity to people’s homes and give nature a place indoors - a moment of calm in our busy everyday lives.
